Read through and understand the cost of admission and what money they may be giving you. Ensure you understand the terms (is it a loan? Is it renewable or one time? Do you have a required GPA to keep the scholarship?)

Accept the admission offer and send in your deposit.

Look into housing ASAP. Many base room selection on when housing deposits are paid.

Many students find their roommates on a college Instagram account for your year. Many others choose to be matched by the school.

Parents should get on the university email lists.

Student should become familiar with the portal system your university will be using.

Make decisions about which clubs or activities you may want to join. Athletics, clubs, Greek life, etc.

Consider doing an excursion prior to the start of school, if the school offers it, to get to know people.
